24 July 2012 East Midlands Trains getting ready to get you to the games regardless of a strike emt  

Passengers travelling from Bedford/Luton and Luton Airport Parkway to/from London are advised to use First Capital Connect services.

East Midlands Trains passengers will also be able to use their tickets on Virgin Trains, East Coast, Greater Anglia, TransPennine Express, Northern and CrossCountry.

19 July 2012 Talks fail between East Midlands train owners, Stagecoach and union workers from St. Pancras train station.  Strike now called for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 
6, 7 and 8 August 2012. Carefully planned for Olympic finals. East Midlands train will have a contingency plan in place. If leaving for an airport double check your commute time to your airport. Leave for airport early.

24 April Update:-East Midlands Trains will run a contingency plan for you. Here's what EMT has to say. 
1. Check website often. 
Hourly service from Derby to London will run for the majority of the day. These services will call at all stations, with some services extended through to Sheffield.
2. A train shuttle service will run from Nottingham to Leicester to connect in with services through to London
3. A train shuttle service will run from Nottingham to Grantham.
4. Rail replacement road services will also be provided on a number of routes and other train operators will be accepting East Midlands Trains tickets.

10 May is going to be an horrendous day to travel to and from UK. Whether it be by boat, ferry, International and national rail and all UK airports will be effected by East Midland train strike corresponding with UK border, immigration and customs strike. 

Can't emphasize enough for you to change your travel plans at your  
 convenience compared to conforming to someone else's plans. Remember extra traffic will be on the roads, traffic jams and taxi's might be hard to find.
