26 Oct. Times are in for the new French air traffic controllers strikes. Starting 5pm, Wednesday, 27, Oct to Friday, 5am, 29 Oct. International flights should run as planned. As usual call your airline.

19, October Another new French general strike today. In short French air traffic controllers are going to continue to strike till 23, October. Long hauls are supposingly not being effected. Call and confirm your flight.

24, September, NEW French general strike Tuesday 12, October, change your flight for earlier rather than later. Call your airline. Trains joining in. Do check are front page.

French Civil Aviation Authorities have limited the number of flights for all airlines.

Therefore, on October 12, we plan to operate100 % of our long-haul flights, and have had to cancel some domestic and European flights.

Air France - KLM will cancel some short and medium haul flights on September, 23. 100% of longhauls will fly. Airline passengers ie. Ryanair (200 flights cancelled) and Aer Lingus passengers you'd better call your airline. Last strike, Air France cleared back up off flights reasonable early the following day after the strike. 400 flights to and from UK will be cancelled. Some Air traffic controllers' trade unions will take part in the general strike launched in France on Thursday, September 23. As a result, French Civil Aviation Authorities have limited the number of flights of all airlines. 

Therefore, we plan to operate 100% of our long-haul flights. However, we will cancel some short and medium-haul flights.
Our flight schedule is currently being updated.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Our commercial services will do their utmost to inform you of flight cancellations and offer you alternatives where applicable, either on a flight with Air France, with KLM through Amsterdam or with one of the alliance partners.

1/12/10 Double whammy in France. Air traffic controllers strike Wednesday till Friday am and weather is causing massive flight cancellations. Air France will not cancel long hauls, but domestic flights out of Orly and CDG will be cancelled. Check with airline asap and our front page.

Update today 23 October AF (and other airlines) flights being cancelled left right and center today due to the air traffic controllers strike. Seems to be hitting Toulouse, Nice, Marseille and Lyon. Strike action on and off till 0430 UTC Wednesday. Added to this is bad weather in UK.


French Rail Strike
Announced today 17 October, SNCF French Railway, unions planning a strike for Thursday 25 October. Trains will be running expect some cancellations on a few routes.

19 October 2012 CFMU is reporting that French air traffic controllers will strike next week.

24 July Air France not expecting any disruptions this week. On Friday management will give information on the 5,122 job cuts. 2 billion savings by 2013.

22 July 2012 Air France strike by pilots from a minor union according to Air France and to expect minor delays. If I'm flying this week with them, I don't consider my pilot minor at all in my travel plans. Strike is to start Wednesday - Sunday July 25 to 29. Call them, make sure they have your email and cell phone number.

28 June 2012 Plans for "Transform 2015" are made public today. No union has signed off on the deals. Coming to grips with the 5,000 or more staff threatened with layoffs. 6 July ground personnel to sign off on the deal, air crews end of July. Hopefully they will hold things together and not strike this summer.

Strike is by national union called SUD Air, all ground staff and cabin crew to strike. All personal and crew are called to strike. Here's what the union has to say sud-aerien.org

Strike is over cut backs, job security, 5,000 employees to go.

Baggage handlers will strike starting 4 AM Monday 
2 April till 4 AM Wednesday. Pilots and cabin crews are not involved this time. Management state limited problems expected, although they don't state that they have a contingency plan in place. May start earlier, Sunday 6 PM. Plus air traffic controllers at minor airports

9 Feb. Thursday Update:-Strike is due to end tonight, all parties will meet again tomorrow. High chance issue will not be resolved as French government is not going to back down. 

Update for Wednesday 8 February Paris Charles de Gaulle 6 flights cancelled at last minute today. Going to take a while for these flights to get back to normal. Even if flying on Friday, call them.
7 February Update today Tuesday:- Air France say tomorrow Wednesday more flights will leave than today. Unions stating today that the strike is a huge success and that 60% of pilots have joined in the strike. A pilot who cancels a long haul flight to a strike may loose up to a 1/4 of his monthly salary. This is causing internal union unrest as lower unions don't have such a financial loss. 3,000 people turned up at airports today and had their flights canceled. We have learned that the strike will go on till Thursday night. Send us an email, tell us what's going on at your airport. Here's what the pilots union SNPL has to say.

Another update for today, Monday:-Oh dear, tomorrow only 50% of long-hauls will leave and 70% of its short and medium hauls.

23 December announced today Air France strike by pilots and airline personnel starting Monday, 1 am 6 February though 9 February 2012. (No other public transportation to join in.)
Update:-1 February, Air France cabin crews to join in and ground crews. Additional news French unions mulling another strike/demonstrations date Wednesday 29 February. 
Air France stated tonight (Friday 3 February) that on Monday it plans to fly over 80% of its short and medium flights. Longhauls 85% of them. You've called them, right!! They do not rule out on the spot cancellations. Britair will likely be joining in the industrial action. Ground handlers, refueling and baggage handlers may also join in. 19 July A couple of things are going on with Air France that you should know about this month. 
First French pilots gave strike notice. Traditionally long-hauls fly. Short-hauls ie. travel between European cities maybe cancelled or severely delayed. Same for domestic travel.
